Our team 2022
We make it as easy as possible for donors and highly effective nonprofits to participate in EA Giving Tuesday.
2022 Core Team
Jack Lewars
Jack has served as Executive Director at One for the World since 2019. He previously co-founded a UK nonprofit called School of Hard Knocks. He oversees One for the World’s work in supporting EA Giving Tuesday.
Philip Gubbins
Philip works at Vanderbilt Basic Sciences as logistics support for lab research. He has previously worked as a conference coordinator for One for the World. Now he is helping OFTW with EA Giving Tuesday communications.
Grace Adams
Grace Adams works on marketing for Giving What We Can. She has worked across marketing and product roles both in consulting and industry and is excited to promote effective giving in her role.
Luke Freeman
Luke Freeman manages Giving What We Can. He is also an active volunteer with various social impact focused projects (EAGxAustralia, Effective Altruism Australia, EA Sydney, Global Shapers Community). He has a background in marketing with a focus on growing early-stage technology startups (Positly, Sendle, TuShare, Coviu). He holds degrees and diplomas in media and communications from Macquarie University and Simon Fraser University.
Chloë Cudaback
Chloë Cudaback is the Director of Communications at One for the World and has spent the majority of her career in the animal welfare space. She is very excited to be supporting EAGT alongside the OFTW team in order to increase donations for their portfolio of Nonprofit Partners!
Annabel Luketic
Annabel works as a Marketing Intern at Giving What We Can and is an active member of the Effective Altruism community. She's inspired to do as much good as she can with her career and is happy to be supporting EA Giving Tuesday this year!
2021 Core Team
Megan Jamer
Megan is the Communications Manager at Rethink Charity and is leading EA Giving Tuesday in 2021, after joining the project in 2020. She also works as a contractor at the Alliance to Feed the Earth in Disasters (ALLFED). Megan holds a BSc in Earth Sciences from Simon Fraser University, and has worked previously as a petroleum geologist. She lives in Vancouver, Canada.
Avi Norowitz
Avi Norowitz is consulting on the EA Giving Tuesday project in 2021, after leading the project in previous years and being involved since 2017. Avi has been involved in the effective altruism community since 2015, and has volunteered as a co-organizer Effective Altruism NYC since 2017. Avi is currently on a career path towards information security, with the goal of applying information security skills to reduce global catastrophic risks.
Gina Stuessy
Gina started volunteering for EA Giving Tuesday in 2020 after being impressed and excited by their efforts the previous three years. She is the Director of Finance and Impact at Animal Charity Evaluators (ACE), co-founder and former organizer of EA Madison (Wis.) and has been involved in EA since 2013.
Mackenzie Bourke
Mackenzie assists in the daily operations of the EA Giving Tuesday program as an Operations Specialist. He is a committee member at Effective Altruism Melbourne and enjoys researching all things EA, with a particular interest in health outcomes modelling. Mackenzie holds a masters degree in Health Economics and has previously worked as a physiotherapist. He spends nearly all of his spare time surfing on the beautiful Victorian coastline in south-eastern Australia.
Aisha Gurung
Aisha joined the EA Giving Tuesday program in 2021 as an Operations Specialist. She is currently pursuing her MSc in Artificial Intelligence at The University of Bath and holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Applied Mathematics and Business Administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. She hopes to use her knowledge and skills to do more good and is a fellow at the LEEDS 2023 Tech for the Public Good is an online international residency programme. She is the co-founder of the EA Nepal chapter and also serves as an Ambassador for CSET Foretell.
2021 Support Team
Rebecca Baron
Rebecca has been working on EA Giving Tuesday since 2019. She previously helped organize the EAGxBoston 2018 and 2019 conferences and is involved with EA community-building in the Boston area. She studies economics and international relations at Tufts University and has been involved with EA since 2016.
William Kiely
Will has worked to make the EA Giving Tuesday project more successful since first learning of Facebook’s match in 2017. Previously, Will took the Giving What We Can pledge in 2015 and volunteered as a co-organizer of the Effective Altruism Austin meetup group from 2017-2020. Will has been inspired by many people in the EA community to give more and give more effectively, and is still in awe of the incredible impact he can have by donating well.
Angelina Li
Angelina has donated through the EA Giving Tuesday project since 2017. In 2019, Angelina created a last minute donation simulator to help donors practice making donations, which she is excited to improve upon in 2020.
Nicholas Goldowsky-Dill
Nicholas worked with Angelina to make the donation simulator for EA Giving Tuesday in 2020. Nix has been involved in the EA community since 2015, and helped organize EA student groups at both Cornell and Oxford. Currently he is also helping to organize the AI Safety Camp.
